Mr Ps Pots – POTFEST in the Pens – Melton Mowbray
Operating under the same ethos as the Cumbrian events, Potfest are bringing together 90 ceramic artists for a three-day artisan market in the heart of Melton Mowbray and just in time for your Christmas shopping.
See the work of the well-established alongside the up-and-coming, in an exciting mix of the sophisticated and the raw power of the next generation, combined in a bustling arts market marketplace. No art hype, no gallery glitz, just potters and public mixing in a down-to-earth setting. Held under cover to save you from the weather.
Affiliate member James Pettinger – better known as Mr Ps Pots will be showcasing his work at Potfest for the first time. James has been working on creating a fresh body of work and solidifying his signature style of crisp, clean lines through splashes of layered glazes. This latest body of work incorporates new materials and textures too, with teapots and jars showing off handmade, hammered brass and steel handles.
One of these new Teapots has also been entered into the “Potter’s Competition”, where at each of the Potfest shows, the potters are invited to enter a piece of their work that responds to a theme. This years theme is “Hybrid” and visitors can vote for their favourite on the day for a chance to win a free entry to all of the Potfest events for life with a Potfest Passport.
Potfest runs on 1st, 2nd 3rd Nov - 3pm – 7pm (Fri) & 10am – 4pm (Sat & Sun)
