Amidst the pandemic, ANCHOR & CREW has experienced some of its busiest times ever as the Banks Mill’s located brand recently signs up a new distributor in USA and signs France’s Galeries Lafayette department store as a new stockist. Voted the world’s best department store in 2019, this latest retailer for the brand is really welcome news as ANCHOR & CREW continues to champion British manufacturing as one of their foremost priorities. Another recent retailer includes British retailer Joules as they begin to stock select brands outside of their own label.
With remote-working something that the brand’s staff have long done prior to the pandemic, the circumstances of Banks Mill’s closure has been manageable, albeit certainly affecting their ability to manufacture. However, adapting to these times, ANCHOR & CREW are finding the positives and have experienced a rise in sales with people staying home and opting to shop online. Another of the brand’s priorities is using materials from ethical sources and having a traceable supply chain, often from within Britain, and whilst this is an already circumstance for ANCHOR & CREW, they hope that the pandemic might push more of the industry’s other brands to equally align themselves with British manufacturing.
As the brand continues to grow on it’s own natural terms, and with various other projects and channels in the pipeline, Andrew Warner of ANCHOR & CREW is really excited about the future, and in particular, what their new US-based distributor can bring.
