Derbyshire Open Arts

Visit Banks Mill during the Derbyshire Open Arts festival to meet eleven artists and makers all under one roof.

Working primarily with stoneware Abbie is a ceramic artist creating hand-built pieces of contemporary sculpture.

Diane is a mosaic artist who uses a variety of materials in her work including fine china, coloured glass and traditional tiles.

Christine’s main practice is in textiles, but she also encourages mixed media use with recycled materials to encourage eco and art literacy.

Felicity’s passion is the natural world, reflected in her preferred subjects, wildlife, and landscapes; She also paints domestic animals, and old buildings mellowed into their environment.

Michael is a self-taught abstract artist who, over the past four years, has developed an eclectic mix of themes, styles, and media.

Sue Russell established Peak Gate Textiles to share her woven artwork with you.  Weaving produces mindful pieces of wall art that are easy on the eyes and on the brain.

Sarah specialises in animals, the natural world and pet portraiture. Her style is highly detailed and lively, using a unique style of painting with acrylics.

Sadia's passion for fabulous designs and happy prints led her to create handmade textile products including accessories and home décor items. 

Zaza.png

Zaza is a papercut and fabric artist who uses scissors, scalpel and fabrics instead of a paintbrush.

Free car parking is available at University of Derby sites, the Enterprise Centre, 37 Bridge Street and Lonsdale House on Quaker Way. 

Local pay and display car parks include Brook Street, Ford Street, Bold Lane and Chapel Street, with on street pay and display parking on Bridge Street.

Please note there is no lift at Banks Mill and ramp access is to the ground floor only.
