Ceramic Artist Abbie Sunter is preparing for her second visit to the immensely popular Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair. Held in the beautiful and slightly unusual setting of Manchester's Victoria Baths, the GNCCF features jewellery, textile accessories, print, furniture, lighting, ceramics, glass, wood, metal and more. The show is an opportunity to buy direct from the makers and to meet and chat to them in person.
Abbie first exhibited at GNCCF in 2021, taking her sculptures out to a new audience for the first time since the pandemic. Now, in 2023 she is planning to return with a new collection.
‘My first experience at GNCCF went really well for me. I’m northern so being back in the north and exhibiting at a well-known exhibition there for the first time was exciting for me, it felt like going home. I decided to re-apply for this year's fair and was happily accepted. I’m looking forward to taking a brand-new body of work with me so that any repeat visitors to the fair will get to see a whole new collection.’
'I'm also currently studying for my MA at Derby Uni so I'm hoping to take some of the work that I have been working on during my last semester, that way I can get fresh reactions and to my work and see how the public might interpret it.'
