As you may well know, Banks Mill Studios is a place for people who are looking to get their creative business or practice off the ground. Our aim is to support those who are at the beginning of their enterprising journey and who wish to build and sustain a successful business from their creative endeavours.
Located in a landmark building within the heart of Derby City Centre, Banks Mill is comprised of 38 clean and dirty studios as well as a ground floor gallery, Banks Mill offers stepped rents along with business support services and a connected community of like-minded individuals to ensure success at all levels of enterprise growth. We have a diverse range of creative industry disciplines within Banks Mill – from jewellery makers to printmakers, photographers to fine artists. Our tenants and members are both University of Derby students and graduates, and creative entrepreneurs not connected with the University.
With our connections to The University of Derby, we can offer fantastic business support through The Enterprise Centre and their programmes such as Be The Boss and Ask The Expert, to help small business owners move forward in the right direction. We arrange monthly tenants and members meetings to bring you updates from The University, local government and any other opportunities that might benefit our members, to cultivate a creative community and small businesses that support each other.
